What we’re about

Asartorial believes that it's not editors, designers and cultural elitists who own style, but rather that people are the true interpreters of fashion. What are people wearing? We want to know.

Sartorial simply means related to tailoring, clothes, or style of dress. Being asartorial means setting trends, not slavishly following them. It’s about being irreverent to the dictates of so-called good taste. Not about being above reading a copy of American Vogue, helmed by the notorious Anna Wintour. Or Canada’s Fashion Magazine, edited by the goddess of politeness, Ceri Marsh. You, the Asartorial, are aware of what the tastemakers have to say, but always look to fashionable people on the street for inspiration.

Asartorial in Vancouver (AV) takes photos of innovative fashion. As an emerging archive of street fashion in Vancouver, we’ll be documenting you from month to month, event to event, intersection to intersection. Keep an eye out for us as we keep an eye out for you in Vancouver.
